Restaurant Week Celebrates 10 Years; Website Lists All Restaurants, Menus

OCEAN CITY — It’s that delicious time of year again; Restaurant Week returns April 17 and runs through May 1.

More than 20 restaurants have created special menus around several different price points.

“Different customers prefer different experiences and menus. Foodies prefer more twists on the menu, while others want more traditional items, and we have a fantastic variety of both,” said Susan L. Jones, executive Director of the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association.

The non-profit association created the event 10 years ago to bring business to their members and offer diners a chance to try new restaurants. This year’s menus showcase some of Ocean City’s most talented chefs who have personalized the menus to reflect their culinary style.

In honor of the 10th Anniversary of Restaurant Week, Southern Wine and Spirits has developed a “Commemorative Cocktail by Clint Dempsey.”

The “Limon Blossom” is made by muddling lemons in a pint glass, adding 1.5 ounces Bacardi Limon and .5 ounces of St. Germaine Elderflower, which are then shaken together and served in a glass rimmed with sugar and topped with soda and a splash of cranberry.

Also in celebration of the 10-Year Anniversary, the OCHMRA has partnered with the Art League of Ocean City to develop “Food for the Soul.”

Artists will be paired with a participating restaurant and will be invited to experience a meal there (of the chef’s choosing). During or after the meal, the artist will create a piece of artwork inspired by the food and atmosphere.

Once the artwork is created, it will be featured in the Ocean City Center for the Arts May exhibit. The Center for the Arts is located on 94th Street on the Bay.

The only thing to make for dinner during Restaurant Week is reservations.

“This is the time for food lovers to try new places, get a group of friends and dine out,” said Event Manager Liz Walk.
