OCEAN CITY — The 2nd Annual Ocean City Sandfest will return next week to the Boardwalk by popular demand, Aug. 2430.

OC Sandfest will feature giant sand sculptures along the Ocean City Boardwalk with special family attractions and activities.

Visitors and residents will be able to watch as master champion sand sculptors transform the smooth beach sand into massive works of art. Sculptures will remain on display through Aug. 30.  Stroll along the Ocean City Boardwalk from North Division Street to 4th Street to see these breathtaking sculptures.

On Thursday, Aug. 27, there will be a Sand Sculpting Class at 9 a.m. followed by a Family Sand Sculpting Competition at 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at noon. Gather your friends and family and join the fun.

On Saturday, Aug. 29, there will be a Sand Sculpting Class at 9 a.m. and a Hands in the Sand Sculpting Demonstration at 2 p.m. All events will be taking place on the beach near North Division Street and are weather permitting.

Plus check out the sand sculptures like you’ve never seen before as they light up the night starting Friday, Aug. 28 from 8-11 p.m. and continuing on Saturday, Aug. 29 and Sunday, Aug. 30. This incredible sight is one not to miss.

This year’s feature sculptors include Dean Arscott from St. Petersburg, Fla., Daniel Belcher from St. Louis, Mo., Patrick Harsch from Clearwater, Fla., Larry Hudson from Tampa, Fla., Stephen Schomaker from St. Louis, Mo. and George Zaizer from Ocean City.
