Seahawks Rout Indians On Senior Day

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity baseball team celebrated Senior Day this week with a 12-2 win over visiting Wicomico.

After suffering their first loss of the season last week to rival Parkside, the Seahawks rebounded with two straight including a 9-3 win over Bennett last Friday, followed by the 12-2 win over Wicomico at home on Monday. The Seahawks beat Parkside in the first meeting between the two teams in March and the two teams are tied atop the Bayside South standings with the regular season winding down.

Against the Indians on Senior Day on Monday, the Seahawks left nothing to chance, scoring early and often on their way to a 12-2 win and a 14-1 record. Eight Decatur seniors were honored during the contest, each of whom has made significant contributions to the success of Seahawk program over the last four years.

Among the eight seniors recognized on Monday with special presentations with their parents in most cases were Connor Woodland, Brandon McKenzie, Justin Meekins, Brooks Holloway, Austin Dundore, Grand Donohue, Sean Colgan and Ryan Bennett. The core group of senior came up through the Berlin Little League together and had great success at that level before reaching high school.
