Worcester Girls Edge Sabres For 2nd Time, 10-9

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team beat old rival Saints Peter and Paul last week for the second time this season, but it was much tougher this time around.

Back on March 31, the Mallards cruised past an injury depleted Saints Peter and Paul team, 16-3, but knew it would be more difficult the second time around with the Sabres. Last Friday, Worcester faced Saints Peter and Paul at home and prevailed, 10-9, in a tight, well-played game by both teams. Last Friday’s game could be the second part of a three-game trilogy with the Sabres as the two teams could face each other again in the ESIAC championship game next month.

Meanwhile, the Mallards are now 9-1 on the season and are currently riding a five-game winning streak. Worcester will play ESIAC rival Salisbury School at home on Saturday, followed by the highly anticipated matchup with neighborhood rival Stephen Decatur at home on Monday.
