All participants are encouraged to bring their shades, water wings and Hawaiian shirts for your chance to win a prize.

“This is such a fun weekend of events, and a great get-away weekend for a group of girlfriends or the whole family,” said Jill Brady, Ocean City Race Manager. “Enjoy a break from this long winter while making a difference in the fight against breast cancer in Maryland.”

In other news, Susan G. Komen Maryland announced this week the Town of Ocean City has been named a presenting sponsor of the 4th Annual Ocean City Race for the Cure.

The Town of Ocean City has been a presenting sponsor for this event since the inaugural Ocean City race in 2012. Komen Maryland works closely with the town to ensure race participants, sponsors and local business owners have a great experience at the spring event.

As presenting sponsor for the Komen Maryland Race, the Town of Ocean City has graciously provided assistance in the areas of police, fire department, public works and transportation support. Additionally, with over 3,000 race participants, the town has helped with the logistics of planning an event this size.

Mayor Rick Meehan says the town of Ocean City is excited to have Komen continue its race on the shore.

“We are excited to have Komen continue their Race for the Cure in Ocean City,” said Mayor Rick Meehan.  “We have a wonderful working relationship with Komen Maryland and we are proud to be a part of such an important cause that affects so many families on the Eastern Shore, in the State of Maryland and across the country.”
