New Doctor Announced

BERLIN – Atlantic General Hospital and Health System has announced that Liezl Irisari, MD, has joined Atlantic General Women’s Health in Ocean Pines.

Irisari’s experience includes a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica, N.Y., and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She is Board Certified in Urogynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed her medical degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine.

Irisari will be providing general gynecology care as well as urogynecology, which focuses on disorders of the female pelvic floor including pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic reconstruction surgery. She joins gynecologist Dr. Christine Neto and women’s health nurse practitioner Nicki Akstinas in practice.

Company Hits Milestone

SALISBURY — W. R. McCain & Associates recently reached a professional milestone with the completion of its 10,000th commercial appraisal assignment.

Nearly all the valuation assignments have been conducted throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Delaware and Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The firm is also sought after to provide valuation services for highly complex real estate throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

The properties valued consisted of a variety of property types such as professional sport stadiums, hotels, shopping centers, golf courses, office complexes, subdivisions, and agricultural properties. The firm’s clientele consist of financial institutions, federal, state and local governments, attorneys, accountants, and general public. In addition, the residential division of the firm has completed more than 45,000 assignments. In total, W. R. McCain & Associates has valued over $12 billion of real estate since its inception.

The firm, which has offices in Salisbury and Ocean View, Del., was founded in 1988 by President/CEO William R. McCain and has grown to more than 20 associates and is ranked among the top 5% of valuation firms in the country for business volume.

New Fast Food Operation

SELBYVILLE — Carl M. Freeman Companies announced the finalization of a deal to bring McDonald’s to Bayside Marketplace.

The deal was completed on Dec. 3, 2014 and the restaurant is under construction. The site is located on Lighthouse Road just south of Americana Parkway.

“With this transaction finalized, we have made all of the land improvements planned for this phase of Bayside Marketplace,” said Chris Garland, Senior Vice President of Development with Carl M. Freeman Companies. “This finish to the year complements the CVS pharmacy we just opened in November.”

The restaurant operator, Mike Meoli, operates several restaurants in the coastal area. At approximately 4,500 square feet, the restaurant will feature the latest prototype contemporary arcade style restaurant, which features brick and stone façade offering visual interest with varying wall depths, textures and colors. Additionally, the new restaurant will include sustainable features such as LED lighting throughout, a bike rack, white reflective roofing and high efficiency equipment and will be the eastern shore’s first McDonald’s featuring the new fast forward drive thru service.

Hospital Leader Honored

SALISBURY — Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) President/CEO Dr. Peggy Naleppa has been named to the 2014 Becker’s Hospital Review of “130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.”

This is the third consecutive year she has been recognized by the national publication. Naleppa, who this year was also named One of Maryland’s Most Admired CEOs by the Maryland Daily Record, was one of only three female hospital leaders in Maryland to earn this most recent distinction.
