BERLIN — Helen Adele Maycock, 80, of Berlin, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on March 14, 1934 in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Murphy Mastaglio.
She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Berlin and the Red Hat Society.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Joseph Maycock, Jr.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Joseph Maycock of Berlin; three children, William Maycock and his wife Cynthia of Salisbury, Edward Maycock of Parsonsburg and Kathleen Maycock of Salisbury; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward J. Mastaglio of Viera, Fla.; and her dog, Muffie.
A mass was held Dec. 2 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

OCEAN CITY — Edna Marie Moger, age 85, of Ocean City, passed peacefully at her home on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Daughter of the late Spencer Lee Moulden and the late Hattie Rebecca Testerman, and married to the late Wesley T. Moger. Edna leaves behind her son, Paul L. Moger and his wife Maryanne; her two daughters, Mary A. Moger, and Terri A. Werle; her six grandchildren, Larry, Paul, Tammy, Kevin, Matthew, and Rebecca; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park. Rev. Olin Shockley officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to Coastal Hospice at the Ocean 10441 Racetrack Rd Berlin, Md. Arrangements are in the care of the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. FENWICK ISLAND — James Halsey, of Fenwick Island, Del. and originally from Silver Spring, Md., died suddenly on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at the age of 74.
Jim was a loving, kind, generous soul who was respected and well-liked by everyone he came in contact with. After many business ventures, he found his true calling as concessionaire for the Washington Redskins and proud owner of the Stadium Stores in Wheaton, Md. and Sterling, Va. Jim often said that not too many people get the chance to have a job they really love and be a Redskin fan all at the same time. Jim was very active with the Touchdown Club of Washington, D.C., Kiwanis Club, Hogette Charities, Moose, Elks and many other local service organizations. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed a life-long love of “oldies” music and music trivia.
He was a loving husband, father, treasured family member and loyal friend to many. Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patti; his son, JJ and his wife, Tracy; and his beautiful grandchildren, Katelyn and Ryan. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. PRINCESS ANNE — Joseph Frances Slechta, 64, of Princess Anne, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014.
Born July 6, 1950 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Joseph Vincent Slechta and Dorothy Lillian Slechta of Ocean City.
Joseph was employed by the Wal-Mart Super Center in Fruitland. He had previously worked in the computer and electronics industry in Salisbury.
He is survived by three sisters, Mary Edwards (Larry) of Martinsburg, W.Va., Anne Slechta Smith (Barry) of East New Market, Md., Therese Tyndall (Jay) of Berlin; two nieces, Angela McKenna and Denise Edwards; two nephews, Christopher Edwards and Daniel Edwards; and many other family members and friends.
On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, a memorial service celebrating his life will be held in East New Market at the home of his sister. Family, friends and co-workers are encouraged to attend. Joseph Elia Camardese Sr.
COUMBIA — Devoted father and grandfather, Joseph Elia Camardese, Sr., 91, of Fenwick Island, Del., passed away on November 30, 2014 in Columbia, Md.
Mr. Camardese was born on April 27, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pa. and was the son of the late Elia and Marie (Kappler) Camardese. He was the husband of Ruth (Engels) Camardese, who preceded him in death and who was the mother of his three children.
He attended Central High School in Philadelphia, Pa. and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943-1946. After his military service, he went to work at the Green Bay Press Gazette until 1951 when he moved his family to the Washington, DC area to begin his career at the Government Printing Office where he retired after 30 years of service.
Mr. Camardese was a youth baseball and football coach for St. Bernard’s CYO, Riverdale, Md. and the manager for the U.S.D.A. American Legion Post 36 baseball team, Washington, D.C. He was a member of the American Legion Post 36 and the Sons of Italy Lodges in Ocean City and Baltimore, Md. He is survived by sons, Michael (Cheryl), Orlando, Fla., and Jody, Laurel, Md.; a daughter, Susan Camardese, Columbia, Md.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one grandson, Nick Camardese.
Burial services will be held at the Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del. on Dec. 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. Charitable donations in his memory may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
