BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity golf team completed a remarkable season this week with a strong performance in the state championships at the University of Maryland.
The Seahawks went unbeaten in the regular season and captured the Bayside Conference and District championships. The win in the district tournament propelled Decatur into the state championship tournament at College Park this week against the top programs in the state.
On Monday, Decatur shot well as a team, led by Matt Kristick’s 76 and advanced to the finals.
On Wednesday, the Seahawks turned in another solid performance, finishing eighth overall in the state tournament. Kristick and Danny Parker each shot a 159 in the two-day event, while Brooks Holloway finished with a 170 and Delaney Iacona finished with a 173.
