BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s boys’ varsity soccer team rebounded from a tough loss to Cape Henlopen last week with a solid 8-1 win over Delmarva Christian at home on Tuesday.

With the win, the Mallards improved to 7-2 on the season and continued their dominance over Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference (ESIAC) foes. Tuesday’s 8-1 win over Delmarva Christian came on the heels of an 11-1 loss to Cape Henlopen last week. Thus far this season, the Delaware powerhouses have had Worcester’s number, the only other loss coming to Indian River, 8-1, in early September.

Against Delmarva Christian at home on Tuesday, Worcester scored early and often. The Mallards built a 5-0 lead at the half and never looked back on their way to the 8-1 win. Elio Telo scored two goals and added two assists, while Patrick Petrara scored twice. Worcester also got single goals from Tate Shockley, Aria Zia-Shakieri, Jared Godwin and Brendan Miller.
