Decatur Girls Improve To 8-0 On Season

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s girls’ varsity soccer team enjoyed another big week, sweeping three games to improve to a perfect 8-0 on the season.

Last week, the Seahawks beat county rival Snow Hill, 4-1, and followed that up with a 3-1 win over Bennett. On Tuesday, Decatur continued its hot streak with a decisive 6-0 win over North Caroline. Jillian Petito led the Seahawks with two goals, while Lexi VanKirk, Mallory Vara, Rachel Bourne and Peyton Townsend each added single tallies.

With the win, the Seahawks improved to 8-0 on the season. They have allowed just three goals in the eight games. Decatur has recorded five shutouts in eight games and has outscored their opponents by a combined 38-3. Decatur faced a tough Parkside team yesterday in a game played too late to be included in this edition. The Seahawks face Wicomico at home next Tuesday.
