Members of the Worcester County Garden Club recently met in the Alumni House at Salisbury University. A program on sustainability practices followed the business meeting where members boarded golf carts for a tour of the university’s green roof and arboretum led by Chris Homeister, director of campus sustainability, and Rachael Faust, recycling coordinator.

Rotary Club Visits Nursing Home
Ocean City-Berlin Rotary Club President Gina Shaffer and Past President Margaret Mudron recently visited the Berlin Nursing Home and handed out new stuffed animals to the residents.
Coastal Hospice Receives Donation

Heritage Center Holds Exhibit
A new exhibit by local artist Patrick Henry is currently on display at the Germantown School and Community Heritage Center. The exhibit, which is called “Phillips Cannery: Remembered,” will run through the end of September. The center is open Wednesdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and by appointment.
Auxiliary Member of the Year Named
Kirsten Brown, right, of West Ocean City has been named Auxiliary Member of the year by Auxiliary Unit 166. Brown has served as first vice president of the unit for three years. She received her award from past President Karen Thompson.
Teacher Displays Paintings at OC Art League

Civic Center Holds Fresh Start Program
On August 26, the School Year Fresh Start program was held at the Wicomico Civic Center. Many organizations volunteered, including the Wicomico Retired School Personnel Association. WRSPA members, pictured, passed out school supplies with a cheerful smile.

Kiwanis Club Makes Donations
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines-Ocean City has a long relationship with Worcester G.O.L.D (Giving Other Lives Dignity).
