Recently, special Olympians from Cedar Chapel Special School and Lower Shore Special Olympics, traveled to Mt. St. Mary’s College for the Special Olympics Maryland Fall Festival. Participating in the soccer tournament the athletes took first place, in double overtime, with penalty kicks. TJ Frampton is pictured dribbling toward the goal.
Mrs. Grace Mitchell’s pre-kindergarten students at Ocean City Elementary School conducted their science fair experiment on the number of seeds in pumpkins. Before they could start their experiment, they had to learn about the scientific method. Above, students Adham Labwam and Gavin Conner present the results of the class experiment.
Fourth graders at Pocomoke Middle School have been studying Maryland. As part of our study, Ms. Parvis from the Delmarva Poultry Industry visited the school and brought chicks. Berlin Intermediate School students from the sixth grade recently visited Buckingham Graveyard and St. Paul’s Episcopal Graveyard in Berlin. Students read the novel, “Wait till Helen Comes,” a ghost story, and then visited the graveyards to make rubbings of interesting gravestones.
