Mrs. Mears’ kindergarten class at Showell Elementary School enjoyed a visit from Betty Parker, who is passionate about quilting and she showed the children how shapes are used when making quilts. She used the friendship star as the example to correlate with their current reading unit on friendship.
Duct Tape Again! is an After School Academy Class offered at Stephen Decatur Middle School that allows students to use their artistic talents to create works of art from duct tape. Stephen Decatur High School seniors Annie Brown, Sarah Kirstein and Madi Mitrecic helped box canned goods during the annual food drive, which brought in nearly 4,000 pounds of canned goods for Diakonia and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department’s Needy drive.
