First Saturday Of Month: Writers Group
10 a.m.-noon. Berlin branch, Worcester County Library. Anyone interested in writing is invited to join the group and share a story, poem or essay or just come and enjoy listening to others. This is a free activity. New members are always welcome. The group is comprised of amateur as well as professional, published writers willing to share their knowledge and offer tips on being creative with words.

March 1: Judy Johnson Memorial Baseball
Fundraiser
5:30-8 p.m. Atlantic Hotel, Berlin. Tickets: $45 at the door. Proceeds to fund building memorial, which will be installed in Judy Johnson’s hometown at the Snow Hill Library in April. Special presenter and auctioneeer Joe Mitchell, a Negro League historian who was a close friend of Johnson’s for more than 23 years. At the age of 81, he has been instrumental in jump-starting this effort.
