BERLIN — On Saturday, May 4, Assateague Coastal Trust (ACT) will host their 19th Annual Native Plant Sale in Berlin from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
This year, ACT’s long-standing plant sale tradition will have available the favorites from years past, plus many new varieties of peppers, tomatoes, cukes, succulents and a bountiful selection of native sun and shade plants that local area pollinators cherish.
Opting for native sun and shade plants not only helps local pollinators but is also beneficial for the environment because they require less water, and aren’t dependent on pesticides and fertilizer. The local waterways will also thank you.
Those planning their spring gardens, looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift or just searching for new varieties to add to their yards are encouraged to visit ACT’s online Plant Sale store at www.ActForBays.org/plant-sale. Pre-sale orders are going on now. All pre-sale orders will be available for pickup at the Assateague Coastal Trust office on May 4.
