It was absolutely gorgeous in and around Ocean City today with no wind to speak of, sunny skies and very warm temperatures. We are expecting more of the same tomorrow and Tuesday so fishing should be getting better and better as the days go on.
Captain Monty Hawkins of the Morning Star had some pretty awesome conditions today with flat calm seas off the beach and he was able to scratch some nice tautog out for his crew.
Slick calm, bit of swell – gorgeous offshore today. Joking with Capt. Kane I said, “I’d rather have a hard day of anchoring than that slop & fog we had yesterday.”
Not so sure about that now.. Sakes. What a day – used every trick I know to get on today’s reefs & wrecks. Got it done, but very much a test..
Never did get any pronounced current. Thankfully a few tog bit regardless.
Mark Sun of Bethesda MD limited, while Pat Scida of Annapolis took everyone’s pool money with an 8.5 pound tog.

Captain Brian Behe’s Virginia charter fishing season is underway now and today it was another slow bite, but he was able to put some keeper flounder in the box. Captain Brian fished Wachapreague, VA and put two keepers in the boat using Sea Hawk bottom rigs and minnows. The fish were caught on the outgoing tide and the largest was a nice 20″er.
Dusk to Dawn Bowfishing with Captain Marc Spagnola has had some nice snakeheads on her deck in the past few weeks. Captain Marc is finding the spots and perfecting the art of putting his shooters on some good eating snakehead action. Last night was no different when his clients were able to “thwack” several nice fish.
