Emory Barrick Green

Born on June 27, 1949 in Baltimore, he graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic in 1968. Barry was a proud alumnus of the Sigma Kappa Phi fraternity, where he was vice president for many years and was very active in many of the fraternity’s reunions over the years.

A dedicated veteran of the United States Air Force, serving overseas at U-Tapao (Utapao) Air Base in Thailand during the Vietnam War, S.Sgt. Green was a Crew Chief on KC-135 In-flight Refueling Aircraft.

After his Air Force service, Barry followed his passion for snow skiing, working and skiing at Mt. Snow, Vt., and Snowbird in Utah.

His love for the beach, and Ocean City specifically, brought him back to sea level 20 years ago when he became a resident of Ocean Pines.

Barry performed maintenance at the Thunder Island condo complex for many years and retired from that position recently.

He will always be remembered as a kind, caring, gentle person, and a very good friend to the many people whose lives he touched.

Cremation services have been completed.
There will be a tribute to Barry taking place at the American Legion on 23rd Street in Ocean City on Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m. All are welcome.
