Seahawks Rout Bulldogs, 61-40

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s girls’ varsity basketball team continued a late-season run this week with a 61-40 win over North Caroline on the road.

The Seahawks did fall to Parkside, 67-45, last Thursday, but rebounded with the big win over North Caroline on Tuesday. With the victory, the Decatur girls have now won five of the last six to improve to 12-9 after flirting with the .500 mark for much of the season.

Against North Caroline on Tuesday, the Seahawks traded leads with the Bulldogs through much of the first quarter before a decisive 19-6 run in the second quarter. North Caroline played Decatur pretty evenly in the second half, but the damage had been done and the Seahawks cruised to the 61-40 win.
