OCEAN CITY — Weather permitting, local residents and visitors will be treated to a rare preview this week when an advanced scouting team for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels conduct a flyover over the resort beach.

The Blue Angels will be the headliner for the O.C. Air Show next June and on Wednesday, two officers will make an advance visit to the resort to plan for the team’s performance. Lieutenant Cary Rickoff and Lieutenant Commander Adam Kerrick are scheduled to fly into NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday in a Blue Angels F/A-18 before meeting with O.C. Air Show officials, town of Ocean City officials and other support agencies that play a key role in hosting the team.

Prior to landing, the Blue Angels team members are expected to fly over the beach in Ocean City to survey the area in advance of their performance next June 15-16 over the beach and Boardwalk.
