OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Museum Society is offering A Historic House Tour on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

If you are looking for a unique event that will have you reminiscing about old Ocean City, you are in luck. This event will allow you to step into the past as you tour some of Ocean City’s oldest homes, B&Bs and local churches.

A docent will be at each site to discuss the unique history of the building. Some of the sites available for touring are; An Inn at the Ocean B&B, The Roberts Cottage, and St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.

“This particular event brings Ocean City’s rich history to life. Extending our reach outside of the Museum is a huge accomplishment. We hope to make this an annual event,” said Daphne Hurley, event chairman.

The Historic House Tour is a fundraiser that will help strengthen and grow the George and Suzanne Hurley Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is open to Stephen Decatur High School graduates who plan on furthering their education at Salisbury University, Wor-Wic Community College or UMES. Annually, the museum society awards the scholarship to one student, who demonstrates academic achievement and provides an essay about a community member, landmark or event that is of historical significance.

The tour will start at the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum where you will pick up your tour booklet that will include a map of all locations and information regarding each property. Tickets for this event can be purchased the day of at the Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum or at www.ocmuseum.org.
