Worcester Girls Run Win Streak To Four

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s varsity field hockey team stayed on a big roll this week, winning their fourth straight including three by shutout to improve to 6-1 on the season.

The shutout streak started last Wednesday when the Mallards blanked St. Thomas More, 7-0, at home. Hailee Arrington scored three goals in the six-minute span in the first half to jumpstart the rout. In the second half, Abbi Nechay scored on an assist from Arrington and a few minutes later, Maya Natesan scored again, also on assist from Arrington. Natesan added her second goal off an assist from Rylie Carey to make it 6-0 and Hana Miller closed it out with a goal to finish 7-0.

Back in action on Friday, the Mallards blanked Delmarva Christian, 6-0. Worcester got five goals in the first half including three from Arrington. Miller and Carly Young also scored in the explosive first half. Natesan scored Worcester’s lone goal in the second half as the Mallards cruised to the 6-0 shutout.

On Tuesday, Worcester blanked Gunston at home, 3-0. Arrington scored the lone goal of the first half to stake the Mallards to a 1-0 lead. Natesan scored twice in the second half to close out the 3-0 win. With the win on Tuesday, the Mallards’ win streak stands at four and the overall record is 6-1.
