Uriah Pennington

BERLIN — Uriah Pennington, age 38, of Berlin, died Saturday, June 17, 2017. He spent that day among family and friends photographing the OC Air Show on the beach in Ocean City.

Uriah is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Anne (Shlagel), and their dog, Riley. He is also survived by his parents, Jon M. and Candace (Klineburger) Pennington, grandmother, Elizabeth Klineburger, brother, Jon Pennington, sister, Lindsey (Pennington) Willimann, nieces and nephews and an aunt and uncle.

Uriah was born in West Chester, Pa. on July 5, 1978 and graduated from B. Reed Henderson High School in 1996. His passion for life and the beauty of the world was seen by many through the lens of his camera.

A memorial service was held at Holy Savior Catholic Church on 17th Street in Ocean City on Thursday, June 22. Fellowship followed in the hall.

Carol Ann Suttka

OCEAN PINES — Carol Ann Suttka, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her home.

Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Esther Casper Berger. She is survived by her loving husband, Louis Craig Suttka, Sr. (whom she had loved since she was 13 years old), and daughter, Debbie Priestley and her husband, Jerry (her favorite son-in-law) of Ocean City. She was an adored grandmother to Kristie (Matt), Katie (Billy), Claire and great-grandson Finn. She was preceded in death by her son Louis Craig Suttka, Jr. in 2009.

Carol was an amazing seamstress, and very talented interior decorator. In the late 70’s she owned the Fabric Loft before opening Interiors by Carol. In her spare time, she enjoyed boating and spending time with her family. She loved her friends and her many clients and her beloved Shitzus.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 17 at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Rev George Patterson officiated. Interment was private for the family.

Jayne Ellen Dickerson

OCEAN CITY — Jayne Ellen Dickerson, age 58, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Jayne Ellen Dickerson

Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Virginia Waller Powell. She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Michael Dickerson and son, Dr. Michael C. Dickerson and his wife, Dr. Judy Luu. Also surviving is a brother, Richard Powell and his wife Dawn of Olney, Md.

Jayne was a graduate of James M. Bennett High School and attended Salisbury State University. She met her future husband when he hired her to work in his store. Together they built a successful business, Ocean Plaza Tees. She was very artistic and added her personal touch to every shirt she made. When she wasn’t working, she loved to cook delicious feasts. Jayne had a giving soul and treated everyone like family.

Her greatest joy was giving birth to her son which completed her own family. She was a great woman and loving mother and wife. Her memories will keep her alive forever in their hearts.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 21 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 100th Street and Coastal Hwy. in Ocean City. Rev. Paul Jennings officiated. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Berlin.
