Lenore Parsons Huffer

BERLIN — Lenore Parsons Huffer, age 80, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.

Lenore P. Huffer

Born in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Ralph Parsons and Lenore Henry (Parsons) Dennis. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth S. Huffer in 2008. She is survived by her children Deborah Huffer Bates and her husband Kenneth of Berlin and Kenneth (K.O.) Huffer and his wife Eeva of Newark, Del., and grandchildren Nathan Bates and his wife Bronwyn, Cody Bates, Mikko Huffer, Tiia Huffer and Katelyn Smith and her husband Tyler. Also surviving are great grandchildren Graham Bates and Finn Bates. A great granddaughter, Moira Bates, is expected soon. Also surviving are a half-sister, Barbara Przywara, and a step-sister, Patsy Pawley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Bozzi, and two half-sisters, Joan Shorter and Sandra Robinson.

Mrs. Huffer had been a Social Studies teacher at Stephen Decatur High School, curriculum planner and teacher at the Berlin Middle School, principal at Ocean City Elementary, Showell Elementary and the Berlin Intermediate School, from which she retired in 2000. She was a member of MSTA (retired). She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, and former volunteer Secretary at the NAAB Research Center. She was instrumental in the American History Award Program at Worcester Preparatory School and the Worcester County schools.

She was a former member and lecture at Holy Savior Catholic Church at Ocean Pines and was currently a parishioner at St. John Neumann in Ocean Pines. She was a master gardener and the beloved owner of her pets Fred, Fritzie and Harry.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Rev. Joseph Coccuci will officiate. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Thelma Claire Linz

SELBYVILLE — Thelma Claire Linz, 97, of Selbyville, Del. (formerly of Cape Isle of Wight, Ocean City and Randallstown, Md.) passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 in Milford, Del.

She was born Oct. 15, 1919 in Baltimore and was the daughter of the late Elsie and Frederick Rodekurt.

Thelma C. Linz

She was the wife of the late Harry G, Linz and is survived by sons Douglas G.Linz and wife, Phyllis, Perry R. Linz, Sr. and wife Margaret and Mark F. Linz and wife Lana. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald H. Linz. Thelma enjoyed watching her granddaughter, Julie Linz, and grandsons Perry Linz, Jr., Andrew Linz, Patrick Linz, Aaron Hudson, and Scott Adcock, grow into adulthood. She was blessed to be a great grandmother to Ava and Noah Linz, twins Paul and Jon Adcock, and Maybellene Maxwell.

In her 70’s and 80’s, she visited every continent in the World, except Antarctica. She celebrated her 80th birthday in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti desert. When she wasn’t travelling or reading about faraway lands, she was happiest spending time with her family, enjoying a good book and snuggling with the family pets.

Robert Wriston

OCEAN CITY — Robert “Rob” Wriston, 49, formerly of Lewes, Del. and Ocean City, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his home in Ocean City.

Rob was a server for the Nantucket’s Restaurant in Fenwick Island for over 10 years. He was a cherished member of the Nantucket family and will be greatly missed by his co-workers at Tucket’s and his long list of patrons and friends that enjoyed his personality, great service, advice and friendship.

Surviving is his mother, Patricia Wriston, and his sister, Shannon Crockett.
