BERLIN- Stephen Decatur girls’ varsity lacrosse standout Lily Belle Baker has been named as a 2017 Brine National High School Lacrosse All-American for the second year in a row and has been selected to represent Maryland at the National Lacrosse Classic in July.

Baker, a junior at Decatur, was named to the Brine All-American team in each of the last two years. Last year, she also represented Team Maryland in the National Lacrosse Classic and will do so again in July. The Brine National Lacrosse Classic brings the top high school lacrosse players in the nation to one venue where regional teams compete to become national champions. The event puts players in front of college lacrosse coaches in a recruiting showcase.

However, Baker will not be vying when she plays in the lacrosse classic in July. Entering her senior year, she has already verbally committed to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Hartford in Connecticut for the 2018 season.

The National Lacrosse Classic is the first-of-its-kind lacrosse experience created to provide athletes with a competitive process to benchmark their skills and athleticism, qualify for selection to represent their states and gain recognition by competing in front of NCAA lacrosse coaches from every division. The National Lacrosse Classic will be held in Richmond from July 18-21.
