Woodland Enjoys Big Day At Baysides

BERLIN- Decatur’s Tajheem Woodland enjoyed a big day at the Bayside Championships last week, winning one sprint event and finishing second in two others.

The Seahawks competed in the Bayside Championships last Wednesday and placed in several events, but the most impressive performance came from Woodland. The Decatur sprinter finished first in the 400, second in the 100 and second in the 200. In the 3,200, Jack Reimer finished fifth and Cameron James finished fourth in the 800.

In the field events, Gavin Payne finished fifth in the discus and third in the shot put. Patrick Miller finished seventh in the shot put, while Kevin Voyles was 10th. Wyatt Davy finished sixth in the high jump, while Jared Massey finished ninth in both the pole vault and the triple jump.

On the girls’ side, Adrianna Serpe was seventh in the 100-meter hurdles and Dori Krasner was seventh in the 1,600. Claire Billings finished third in the 800, while Krasner finished eighth. Bridget Buxbaum finished fifth in the high jump, while Caela Berrie finished eighth. Bethany Williams was eighth in the triple jump, while Khalin Wise finished 10th. Wise was also 10th in the long jump.
