Seahawks Solid In Delmarva Relays

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity outdoor track teams made a solid showing last week at the Delmarva Relays at Wicomico Stadium, placing well in most of the relay races and collecting a handful of individual honors.

On the boys’ side, Wyatt Davy was fifth in the high jump and tied for seventh in the pole vault. Jared Massey also tied for seventh in the pole vault and was third in the triple jump. Gavin Payne was third in the shot put, while Patrick Miller was sixth. Payne was also second in the discus, while Miller finished 10th. In the 4×200 relay, Decatur was sixth, while the Seahawks finished first in the 4×400, fourth in the 4×800 and sixth in the distance medley.

On the girls’ side, Decatur finished seventh in the 4×200 relay, fourth in the 4×400, and fourth in the 4x 800. The Decatur girls also finished fourth in the 800-meter sprint medley and fifth in the distance medley. In the high jump, Caela Berrie tied for fourth and Bridget Buxbaum tied for eighth. In the pole vault, Noelle Dennis was ninth. Jessica Wharton finished sixth in the long jump, while Bethany Williams was seventh. Williams also finished fifth in the triple jump. Khalin Wise was 10th in the shot put.
