Seahawks Well Represented In State Region Meet

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity outdoor track teams will be well represented in the state 3A-East Region meet at Reservoir High School this weekend with several athletes in every event.

Madison Jones, Diamond Rounds and Montajha Bowen will compete in the 100-meter dash. In the 200, Decatur will be represented by Katie Hofman, Malea Saunders and Jones. Rachel Savage and Ivy Stearn will compete in the 400. In the 800, Decatur will be represented by Amelia Nickell, Grieciane Timcik and Savage.

Payton Dunham, Alison Alvarado and Emma Leo will represent Decatur in the 1,600. In the 3,200, the Seahawks will be represented by Dunham, Alvarado and Emma. Emily Cook and Adriana Serpe will represent Decatur in both the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.

Stearn and Saunders will compete in the high jump. Dana Kim and Dori Krasner will represent the Seahawks in the pole vault. In the long jump, Decatur will be represented by Khalin Wise, Bethany Williams and Billings. Serpe, Wise and Williams will compete in the triple jump. In the shot put, the Seahawks will be represented by Janiah Johnson, Takira Green and Dayona Godwin. Savannah Schultz, Green and Godwin will represent Decatur in the discus.

On the boys’ side, Montrel Moore, Avonte Purnell and Chad Fischer will represent the Seahawks in the 100. Daymont Mercer, Moore and Fischer will compete in the 200. Zach Bernal, William Thompson and Tyrese Milbourne will compete in the 400.

In the 800, Decatur will be represented by Cameron James and Trent Chetelat. Javier Hernandez, Jack Reimer and James will compete in the 1,600. The 3,200 will feature Cade Solito, Hernandez and Reimer. John Curtis will represent the Seahawks in the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.

In the field events, Jared Massey, Kevon Voyles and Ryan Beach will compete in the high jump. In the pole vault, Decatur will be represented by Evan Haas and Brett Kim. Milbourne and Voyles will represent the Seahawks in the long jump. Spencer Carbaugh and Massey will represent Decatur in the triple jump.

Patrick Miller, Steven Kaminski and Ernest Shockley will compete for Decatur in the shot put. The same trio will compete in the discus.
