Issue Highlights
There were many local bands performing at different restaurants and clubs around the area; Secrets, Second Coming, Sinbad, and Glen Bailey & Circus were a few of the featured bands.
Shantytown was said to be home to an unusual shopping extravaganza. There were acres of a festive nautical atmosphere, handmade crafts, jewelry, decoys, kites and many more varied goods.
Jill Higgins hosted tennis lessons including apparel for all sizes, tennis and racquetball equipment and racket stringing.
Sound Waves was the only record shop that stayed open year-round. Here you could find LP’s, 8-tracks, cassettes, needles and accessories.
Ocean City’s number one night club was the Hurricane, which hosted ladies night every Tuesday and occasionally held dance contests.
The Garden was a restaurant that had a special room where your meal would be prepared ‘flambé-style’ right at your table.
Talbot Street Pier offered daily fishing trips starting at 7 a.m. and scenic cruises every evening.
Boardwalk Galleries auctioned antiques, diamonds and precious gem jewelry, oriental rugs, paintings, lamps and many more every night at 8.
