BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team continued a dominating run this week, beating old rival Saints Peter and Paul, 16-11, at home last Friday followed by a 17-4 rout of Gunston at home on Monday.
The Mallards faced Saints Peter and Paul last Friday and edged the Sabres, 16-11, in what could be the first of a typical trilogy between the traditional rivals. It’s always special when the Mallards face the Sabres in just about any sport, and last Friday’s 16-11 win for Worcester certainly lived up to the hype.
Back in action, the Mallards routed visiting Gunston, 17-4. With the pair of wins, the Worcester girls ran their impressive win streak to nine games and improved their record overall to 10-1. The Mallards’ only loss came to Baltimore-area powerhouse Dulaney during the Karl Wolf Tournament back on March 26. The Worcester girls played Indian River yesterday on the road in a game played too late to be included in this edition. The Mallards will face another traditional rival, Cape Henlopen, at home on Friday afternoon.
