Seahawks Stay On Major Early Season Roll

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s boys’ varsity basketball team stayed on a major early season roll this week, routing Colonel Richardson, 93-44, on Thursday before cruising past Crisfield, 89-32 on Tuesday.

The big, athletic and quick Seahawks have barely been tested as they have cruised to a 4-0 record. Decatur beat Arcadia, 81-31, in the season opener and followed that up with an impressive 90-62 win over Wicomico last Tuesday. Last Thursday, the Seahawks continued the early-season trend with a 93-44 rout of Colonel Richardson. Ja’Ron Johnson led the way with 29 points, while Kevon Voyles scored 23 and JaQuan Johnson added 17.

Back at it again on Tuesday, the Seahawks routed Crisfield, 89-32, after leading 50-11 at the half. Decatur has outscored its first four opponents by a combined 353 to 169 and is averaging around 88 points per game. The Seahawks played Washington on Thursday in a game played too late to be included in this edition and will face county rival Pocomoke in a highly anticipated early season matchup on the road on Monday.
