BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity basketball team got its season off the fast start with a pair of wins including a 26-16 win over visiting Broadwater Academy on Monday.
The Mallards opened the 2015-2016 campaign with a resounding 42-12 win over Gunston on the road last Friday. In the home opener on Monday, the Worcester girls broke open a low-scoring defensive struggle with a 12-point fourth quarter to pull away from Broadwater Academy, 26-16.
The Worcester girls will compete in the Indian River Tip-Off in Delaware over the weekend. The Mallards will face Delmar at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and will take on host Indian River at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Worcester girls will return home for a game against Salisbury School next Wednesday.
