Registration Open For New Lax League

OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department is offering a fall youth lacrosse league on Tuesday nights at the town’s recreational sports fields at 3rd and 4th Streets.

The fall lacrosse game play league will run on Tuesdays from September 1 through October 20. Members of the Salisbury University lacrosse program will run a clinic for each age group on the first night of the program for each division.  The plan for the new league calls for three divisions.

Kindergarten through 2nd grade will play from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday night during the season. Players in grades three and four will take the field from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and grades five through six will play from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. under the lights when necessary.

The times might change slightly based on the number of participants in each age group. Participants will be split into different teams each week to allow them to play different positions and with different players. The cost of the program is $42 for Ocean City residents and $53 for non-residents. In addition, the new lacrosse program is in need of volunteer coaches for each age group.
