Worcester County Fair Next Weekend

SNOW HILL — Nine new events are planned at this summer’s Worcester County Fair, which will be held the weekend of Aug. 7-9.

The Fast Fetch Cup (sponsored by Delmarva Unleashed) will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon and again from 1-5 p.m. This is a fetch competition with a timed component.

The event is open to all dogs. Trials in the small dog category (under 35 pounds) and large dog category (over 35 pounds) will be ongoing on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.

Come by the Delmarva Unleashed booth to register or register online at www.PoochPalooza.com and simply check-in at the booth. The finals competition will take place Oct. 3 with six ribbons awarded.

The top two winners from each heat are invited to compete in the finals event at the Pooch Palooza dog festival. Trophy, Champion and Reserve Champion Ribbons will be awarded at the finals. Visit www.PoochPalooza.com for competition rules

The Kid’s Mud Bog will be held Friday, Aug. 7 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.,. Satirday, Aug. 8, 2:30-4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 9, noon-2 p.m. Participants will race on the Mini Mud Bog Power Wheels Track with 12-volt Power Wheels provided to racers. Participants must be at least 3 years old and under 60 pounds. Participants are encouraged to bring their own helmet. The Furry Friends Fashion Revue will be held Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. Some favorite local models will pair up with amazing adoptable pets through the Worcester County Humane Society. Sign up to show case a prospective pup. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Each participant will receive a participation ribbon and a special treat for the furry friends. Models are encouraged to make accessories to showcase with a furry friend, such as a head band and matching bandanna. The Slow and Go Motorcycle Race will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. Registration will be prior to the race. This event will be held in conjunction with the Ride-in Motorcycle Show from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Awards up for grabs include Best In Show, Best Sport Bike, Best Cruiser, Best Paint Job and Best Modification.
