Pedestrians Hit On OC Sidewalk

OCEAN CITY — Two pedestrians were seriously injured last weekend after a chain reaction accident that ended with a vehicle swerving onto a downtown Ocean City sidewalk.

Around 4 p.m. last Saturday, Ocean City Police and Emergency Services responded to the area of 2nd Street and Baltimore Ave. for a reported motor vehicle accident involving pedestrians. The investigation revealed a vehicle attempted to make a lane change while traveling north on Baltimore Ave. but struck another vehicle in an adjacent lane.

The second vehicle then swerved onto the sidewalk where it struck two pedestrians, an unidentified male and female, before striking a parked car and coming to rest. The two victims were each transported to area hospitals, including one to Atlantic General and one to PRMC in Salisbury with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
