Teen Charged With Armed Robbery

OCEAN CITY — A Hagerstown teen was arrested on armed robbery, first-degree assault and other serious charges last Friday after a failed attempt to hold-up a group of individuals at gun point in a motel on 27th Street.

Around 2:20 p.m. on June 10, Ocean City Police responded to the area of 27th Street and Baltimore Ave. for a reported armed robbery involving a handgun. Upon arrival, s met with a group of individuals who reported they were robbed at gunpoint inside a motel on 27th Street.

The victims reported a male suspect, who was part of a larger group, displayed a handgun and demanded money from each of them. When the victims resisted, the gun-toting suspect, later identified as Christian S. Gill, 16, of Hagerstown, and the rest of his group fled to a nearby hotel at 26th Street and Baltimore Ave.

With assistance from the victims, officers were quickly able to determine to which room in the hotel the suspects had fled. A search and seizure warrant was executed on the suspects’ room during which a pellet gun, clothes matching the suspect’s description, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized. The investigation later revealed the incident was a drug-related robbery.

Police have charged Gill as an adult. The charges include armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault and theft. After a bond review, Gill was held without bond.
