EMS Week Open House Planned In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY — Ocean City Career Firefighter/Paramedics will be hosting an open house at City Hall on May 18 to mark National Emergency Medical Services Week, which is May 17-23.

The open house is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on May 18. Paramedics will be available to answer questions, check blood pressures and demonstrate the life-saving equipment they use every day.

“Ocean City EMS providers are highly trained professionals that work closely with other emergency response agencies — including police and 911 communications — to provide quality medical care to those who are ill or injured,” said Ryan Whittington, president of the Career Firefighter/Paramedics Association of Ocean City.

EMS Week is designed to publicly recognize the life-saving work provided by the many first responders, EMTs and paramedics across the United States. The theme for this year is “EMS Strong.” This theme highlights the dedication and commitment of EMS providers to the community they serve.
