BERLIN — Susan Taylor Baker, age 70, passed peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Southampton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Cyrus Baker and Betsey Taylor Baker. She is survived by her brother, James “Big Bake” Burton Baker, Sr. of Berlin, and a nephew, James Burton Baker, Jr. and his wife Lynne, and their son, Austin James Baker of Bishopville. She also leaves behind many special friends, especially Billie and Paul Wall, who were like a sister and brother to her. In addition, she leaves a special friend “Betsey”, a small black poodle who will miss her mother and all of her friends that would stop to see her.

Susan was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School Class of 1962. She had been employed with Fisher’s Pharmacy and had worked as an accountant with Phillips Seafood Restaurants for 37 years until her retirement. She was a member of Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City and its Martha Circle. She was a member of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a past Matron of the Wicomico Chapter #91 Order of Eastern Star in Salisbury, and Past Matron of the Roelma Chapter #13 Order of Easter Star in Sharptown, MD. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #166 in Ocean City, Past President of the Berlin/Ocean City Soroptimist, and Past President of the Eastern Shore Ladies Shrine Club.

A funeral service was held last Sunday at the Atlantic United Methodist Church on 4th Street and Baltimore Ave. in Ocean City. Rev. Patty Frick officiated. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin.
