New OC Business Focusing Entirely On Wax Services
New OC Business

OCEAN CITY – Residents and visitors are invited to sit back, relax and get waxed at OC Beach Wax, the only dedicated wax service in the area.

Ryn Rohe opened OC Beach Wax in early July. Prior to opening her new business, Rohe operated a mobile waxing service, Spa on the Go, in the Delmarva region for two years.

“I have my Esthetician license and this is what I love to do so I said, ‘This is pretty much it. I am not getting any younger. I am going for it.’ So, I decided to open up. I have always wanted to have my own business,” Rohe said of opening OC Beach Wax.

Rohe is dedicated to proper body waxing and taking every precaution to maintain the highest levels of hygiene.

“There is no other dedicated waxing service in the area … and it is funny because out west and to the south there is waxing services everywhere. You would think there would be in a beach town as common as Ocean City is where you get people from so many different places regionally,” Rohe said.

Unlike a salon or spa, the focus at OC Beach Wax is exclusively on a waxing experience that is clean, comfortable and fun, providing each customer with a personalized service that is above and beyond the “industry standard” to make sure each and every client is completely satisfied.

“You can go get an eyebrow wax or maybe a bikini wax at some of the salons but that is part of the reason why I decided to do this as well. Waxing is an afterthought in the spas and salons. When you come in here, you’re going to get a 15- to 20-minute eyebrow wax. I take my time and go the whole nine yards,” Rohe said.

Rohe put her heart and soul into making OC Beach Wax’s location her own to have the individual clients feel calm and comfortable upon entering. The space offers a modern, fun, clean, spa-like alternative to hair and nail salons as well as a less painful approach to waxing.

“It is not so formal like a spa. I was trying to keep it funkier and down to earth, because most people are intimidated when they first come in, especially with bikini [waxes] and Brazilian [waxes]. They don’t know me so I figured the calmer, cooler and funkier the surroundings were they would get a better feel for the type of person I am. Everybody has been very happy,” Rohe said.

For ladies, OC Beach Wax services cover all areas from top to bottom and almost just as much for men. According to Rohe, prices are competitive and can be found to be lower than other local spas and salons.

Services include full arm, half arm, full back, half back, bikini, Brazilian, chin, eyebrow, eyebrow tint, eyebrow tweezing, eyelash tint, face, feet and toes, Hollywood Brazilian, full legs, half legs, lip, patch, underarms, and even anti-aging and summer skin facials.

“It is the dedication that we have to each service,” Rohe said of what sets OC Beach Wax apart from the rest. “My intent is to take the waxing out of the salons, so it is not an afterthought anymore. It is actually something that is focused upon and not just a two-second eyebrow wax. You’re actually going to get a very good detailed eyebrow wax. Once I get you back there, I won’t let you leave until there is not one hair out of place. So far everyone has been really happy.”

Current hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the off-season, OC Beach Wax will cut back on hours but will begin to offer party services, such as a girl’s night out.

“I am so happy that I did this. It has been really great, and the reception from people so far has been awesome,” Rohe said.
