Oceanfront one bedroom apartments at the Caliban were being rented for $125 and $225 a week.
The live racing season at Ocean Downs Raceway was July 3-Aug. 31, featuring nine races nightly.
In an Editorial, it was written, “The time to save the so-called downtown area is now, before the north bridge becomes a necessity rather than a choice. … The time to save downtown is now while it is alive and prosperous. Let’s not wait until it dies then rush forth with expensive life saving equipment.”
Hearth-baked pizzas were available at two Pixie Pizza Parlour & Pub locations — Division and the Boardwalk and 9th and the Boardwalk.
