Casino Revenue Gains Posted

BERLIN — The October revenue figures for Maryland’s four operating casinos were released this week, revealing the Casino at Ocean Downs in Berlin continues to make significant gains.
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency on Tuesday announced the four casinos up and running in Maryland generated over $66 million combined during the month of October. Maryland Live in Anne Arundel County continued to be a juggernaut for the state’s casino gaming industry, contributing nearly $52 million to the $66 million-plus total for October.
The Casino at Ocean Downs showed a significant increase in revenue generated during October 2013 over the same month in the prior year. The Berlin casino’s 800 video lottery terminals generated over $4.2 million in October 2013, representing an increase of nearly $728,000, or just over 20 percent, over October 2012. The gross gaming revenue per machine per day for the Casino at Ocean Downs in October came in at $170.89. The Casino at Ocean Downs’ top month in its history came in August when it generated $5.9 million.
The Hollywood Casino in Cecil County showed significant gains in October after slumping for much of the year. The Cecil County casino grossed $6.9 million in October, representing an increase of 26 percent over October 2012.
The new Rocky Gap casino in western Maryland generated $3.4 million in October.
