Decatur Girls Bow Out Of 3A-South Tourney

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s girls’ varsity soccer team bowed out of the state Class 3A-South tournament on Tuesday, falling to top-seeded Huntingtown, 4-3, on the road.
The fourth-seeded Decatur girls took care of business last week, beating fifth-seeded Northeast, 7-4, to advance to the Section I semifinals. Jillian Petito and Rebecca Lederman each scored two goals, while keeper Rachel Florek recorded 10 saves.
The win advanced Decatur to the section semifinals on the road on Tuesday against top-seeded Huntingtown. Despite playing what Coach Misty Bunting called one of their best games all season, the Seahawks fell, 4-3. Petito scored two goals and Lederman added a single goal. Florek was again outstanding in goal, recording 20 saves.
