Employees Win Prizes
OCEAN CITY — The Harrison Group held its 27th Annual Employee Prize Drawing on Sunday, Sept. 22. A total of $15,000 in cash plus a variety of other prizes were awarded.
All Harrison Group employees were asked to save their paycheck stubs for a three-month period and turn them in for the random prize drawing.
This year’s $5,000 winner was Maria Hernandez, who is employed at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites. Second prize of $3,000 was won by Iona Tritean, who is employed at the Quality Inn Boardwalk, and third prize of $2,000 went to Bertin Bonola, of 32Palm Restaurant.
Ten other lucky employees won $500 each. They included Russell Parker and Valencia Sessoms of the Quality Inn Oceanfront, Marian Thompson of the Quality Inn Boardwalk, Robert Walter of the Maintenance Department, Heidi Carpenter of the Coral Reef Café & Grill, Wayne Hudson of the Holiday Inn Oceanfront, Ionut Sofan of Paul Revere Smorgasbord, Jessica Sossong of the Corporate Office, Steven Olischar of Harrison’s Harbor Watch, and Dawn Hahn of the Golf Office.
Promotion Announced
BERLIN — Mark A. Delaney, a former local resident who grew up in
the area, was recently promoted to Head ISO for NATO in Brussels, Belgium.
Delaney’s program provides services such as training and IT support not only for NATO but eight additional nations.
Delaney is a 1984 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School. Shortly after graduation from high school, he enlisted with the United States Air Force diligently serving the nation from abroad until he retired after 25 years of service at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
Cash Dividend Declared
BERLIN – The Board of Directors of Calvin B. Taylor Bankshares, Inc. (TYCB) have declared an annual cash dividend of $0.94 per share. This dividend is payable on Dec. 31, 2013 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on Nov. 13, 2013.

BERLIN – The National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) announced that Darlene Jameson, Outpatient
Diabetes Education Program Coordinator at Atlantic General Hospital, has been recertified as a diabetes educator by successfully completing the required continuing education.
Candidates must meet rigorous eligibility requirements to be eligible for certification. Achieving the CDE credential demonstrates to people with diabetes and employers that the health care professional possesses distinct and specialized knowledge, thereby promoting quality of care for people with diabetes. Currently, there are over 17,800 diabetes educators who hold NCBDE certifications.
Jameson is an integral part of the outpatient diabetes education program at Atlantic General Hospital. This service offers personalized, individual counseling and group classes that family members are encouraged to attend. Jameson also speaks frequently at community events, writes articles for local publications and is involved with the Tri-County Diabetes Alliance. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Rochester, NY, and a master’s degree in public health nutrition from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Bill Hand of the Marketplace at Sea Colony office won top honors for both top listings and sales for the month.
