Eastern Shore Lax Club To Hold Tryouts

BERLIN- The Eastern Shore Lacrosse Club, which fields teams of middle and high school girls from all over Delmarva to compete in various regional tournaments and prepares players to advance to the next level, will hold tryouts next Sunday, October 20, at Cape Henlopen High School.
Under the direction of Head Coach P.J. Kesmodel, who has coached high school lacrosse for 25 years including some of the prestigious schools in the Baltimore metropolitan area, the Eastern Shore Lacrosse Club offers young female players from all over Delmarva an opportunity to compete in high-profile tournaments with exposure to college coaches. The ESLC, again under Kesmodel’s leadership, offers free guidance to navigate the complex college recruiting process for players hoping to extend their lacrosse careers to the next level.
Kesmodel coached high school lacrosse on the west side of the Chesapeake for decades and also founded and organized the highly successful Heroes Lacrosse Club. He retired to the shore a few years back but continued to stay involved in lacrosse, coaching the Cape Henlopen girls’ varsity team and originating the ESLC about four years ago.
The ESLC will field several age-specific teams for the 2014 tournament season from the 2015 team, for girls entering the 12th grade next year, to a 2019-2020 team for girls entering grades seven and eight next year. The program is open to all players on Delmarva and the teams include players from Worcester Prep, Decatur and all over the shore.
Tryouts for the 2014 season will be held next Sunday, October 20, at Cape Henlopen High School from 9 a.m. to about 3:30 a.m. for the various teams. Pre-registration is available at easternshorelax.org, or registration will be accepted next Sunday prior to each tryout. The tryout fee is $5.
