Leaders Installed
OCEAN CITY — Bernie Flax of Prudential Pen Fed Realty in Ocean Pines and Nanette Pavier of Holiday Real Estate in Ocean City were installed as the 2014 chair and co-chair of the Coastal Delmarva Women’s Council of REALTORS® Business Resource Group in a ceremony held at The Captain’s Table Restaurant on Oct. 3.
The Coastal Delmarva Chapter is a 65-member professional real estate group affiliated with the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR), a national professional development organization with 10,100 members.
Flax and Pavier will serve a one-year term as chair and co-chair, respectively, and will be responsible for developing and conducting business resource meetings about real estate related topics to educate the members.
Flax has been active in the Coastal Delmarva Chapter for five years and has held positions of secretary and committee member. Pavier has been a member for six years and has served as treasurer for two terms and served on various committees as well.
“Being a member of Women’s Council has allowed me to network with some of the top real estate industry professionals and hone my skills to provide better service to my clients”, said Flax.
Pavier said, “It’s a great organization to be affiliated with especially for agents new to the business, helping them learn from others through our exchange of value approach”.

Advisor Earns High Ranking
BERLIN – Christopher Hoen, a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial, has received high marks from his clients in the recent Ameriprise Financial Client Relationship Study.
Hoen ranked in the top 25 percent of participating advisors who scored 96 percent or higher based on overall client satisfaction.
Conducted by a third party research organization, the survey provides clients with the opportunity to rate their advisor in several areas including whether their advisor provides them access to other specialists when appropriate, explains fees clearly and contacts them when market conditions change significantly.

Home Buyer’s Expo
Announced For Oct. 17
BERLIN — Coastal Association of Realtors® (CAR) and members of the real estate and banking industries will host a free Home Buyer’s Expo for members of the community.
CAR is looking to educate people on the process and opportunities for home ownership and prepare people for becoming responsible home owners.
The Home Buyer’s Expo will educate the public on how to become a home owner in today’s market. Experts will cover everything from purchasing distressed properties, recovering from a short sale or foreclosure to real estate transactions from beginning (getting pre-qualified) to end (closing). The event will include presentations and provide opportunities for one-on-one counseling.
The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at The Fountains Conference Center in the Flanders Room in Salisbury. Participants can register at coastalrealtors.org or call 410-641-4409
Lender Jamie Wetzelberger from Suntrust Mortgage will cover how to get pre-qualified for a loan, a financial timeline for purchasing a home and an overview of the different types of loans available to first-time and repeat home owners.
