Heels and Reels Tourney a Big Success

OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Marlin Club’s Heels and Reels ladies only tournament last week was a huge success with plenty of billfish releases and a bunch of big tuna brought to the scale.
In the billfish release division, the crew on the “Grande Pez” took first place with 250 points and was awarded $1,350 in prize money. The crew on the “Reel Fantasy” took second with 200 points and was awarded $7,065 in prize money because of added entry levels. The “Odinspear” crew took third with 150 points and earned $1,593 in prize money, while the “Reel Pushy” crew took fourth and was awarded $702 in prize money.
In the tuna division, it was the crew on the “M.R. Ducks” taking first place with a 174-pounder worth $1,440. The “Reel Fantasy” crew took second with a 172-pounder worth $6,399 because of added entry levels, while the “Slaughterhouse” crew took third with a 54-pound tuna and earned $2,061. Emma Campbell, fishing aboard the “Reel Estate” won the Top Junior Angler Award.
