DELMAR — The Amphitheater at Heron Ponds is holding its first annual Blues and Brews festival this Saturday, June 29.
The Blues and Brews Festival kicks off at noon with music from local blues performers, beer from local breweries and the best BBQ around. The Amphitheater at Heron Ponds provides a safe and fun environment for the entire family to enjoy, whether it is an outdoor festival, concert, play, movie and even auto or equipment auctions.
The amphitheater has already had successful events, including hosting Kelly Pickler, Everclear and Eve 6, all which had huge turnouts, organizers reported this week.
Performers booked for the upcoming festival include Deanna Bogart, The Bullbuckers, Little Mama-Heather Hardy, Rockett 88 with Dr. Harmonica, Lower Case Blues and Chris English.
Local breweries will be in attendance serving their top quality beer at the Brews and Blues festival. The confirmed brewers include Evo, Dogfish Head, Tall Tales, Burley Oak, and 16 Mile. Award-winning food from local vendors will be provided. Confirmed vendors include Slo and Low BBQ and Olde South BBQ both out of Delaware.
Currently when you drive past The Amphitheater at Heron Ponds on Route 54 east of Route 13, you may be confused to see empty fields and houses under construction. For the first few performances, all equipment will be brought in the week of the event, including an elevated stage. As the venue progresses, permanent structures will be built, including a berm for elevated lawn seating.
The Amphitheater at Heron Ponds is not only about giving people a good show. Part of the mission of the amphitheater is to provide community support, while offering family entertainment at reasonable prices.
At the Women Supporting Women Walk for Awareness, eight tickets for the Kelly Pickler show were auctioned by Marshall Auction. The auction of these tickets raised $7,500. A check was presented to Women Supporting Women just prior to the concert where many volunteers and guests, who are breast cancer survivors, were in the audience.
Tickets for the festival will start at $10 and will be sold at the door. Children under 10 years old will be admitted for free. Parking is free. There will be no coolers, outside food and drink, pets, or beach umbrellas allowed on premises.
