BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity baseball team edged Indian River, 11-10, on the big stage at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium last Saturday as part of the second annual Bi-State Rivalry tournament at the home of the Delmarva Shorebirds for their ninth consecutive win.
The Seahawks competed in the second annual Bi-State Rivalry tournament at the Shorebirds Stadium last Saturday featuring teams from Maryland and Delaware. The annual event affords local high school players the opportunity to play on a professional baseball diamond while allowing fans to see some of the top prep teams in the area compete. The Seahawks defeated Indian River last Saturday afternoon, 11-10, for their ninth straight victory.
After losing on back-to-back days to Bayside South rivals Parkside and Bennett back on April 8-9, Decatur has now won nine in a row. Prior to the Indian River game last Saturday, the Seahawks beat Washington, 4-1, and Snow Hill, 12-0. The nine-game streak also features wins over Crisfield, Mardela twice, Pocomoke, Chincoteague and Wicomico.
