SALISBURY – Salisbury Horizons, a non-profit dedicated to the achievement of students from low-income homes in Wicomico County, is hosting the 7th Annual Dance & Arts Showcase on Saturday, April 6, at 7 p.m. in the Wicomico High School auditorium.
The community performance project and fundraiser will directly benefit Horizons at The Salisbury School, a not-for-profit academic, social and recreational program that benefits public school students from low-income families.
“This event celebrates the talent of our local youth,” said Harlan Eagle, executive director of Salisbury Horizons. “We are looking forward to an exciting night filled with entertainment from some of the top dance and musical talents from across the Lower Shore.”
The showcase, directed by Susan Rogers, will highlight top talent from across the Lower Shore. In what promises to be an evening of tremendous entertainment, groups of performers from nearly a dozen troupes and academies will entertain, including representatives from Feet of Fire, Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre, Salisbury Dance Academy, Prince Street Step Team, Salisbury School Lower School Chorus, Wicomico Middle School Step Team, High Voltage Cheer & Dance, Salisbury Horizons, Jeremiah Copeland, Salisbury Middle School Show Choir, BeachBounders, Seaside Dance Academy, Salisbury Christian School, Footsteps Dance Academy, Dancenter Salisbury, D’Ann Danse.
Co-sponsored by The Salisbury School and Wicomico County Board of Education, the evening will also include concessions and front hall displays by the dance studios and other non-profit organizations.
All proceeds benefit Horizons @ The Salisbury School, a non-profit program that aims to educate and inspire children from low-income families and provides them with a wide array of academic, social and recreational opportunities.
Tickets to the 2013 Horizons Dance & Arts Showcase will be $5 for children or $10 for adults and are available at participating schools, studios or at the door.
