Wounded Warriors To Be Honored

OCEAN CITY — The American Legion Post 166 in Ocean City, with the help of some local businesses and organizations, will host 10 heroes from the Wounded Warriors program for a weekend of relaxation and rehabilitation later this month.

On April 19, 10 wounded warriors from the Walter Reed Medical Center will arrive in the resort for a weekend of enjoyment with their families sponsored by the American Legion Post 166. The Harrison Group will provide hotel rooms for the 10 wounded warriors and their staff and caregivers for three nights and will also host a breakfast for them at Reflections on April 20.

The Ocean City VFW will host the warriors and their families and caregivers for a dinner on the night they arrive. The Pit and Pub Restaurant will host the Wounded Warriors for a dinner on Friday, April 20 and the Ocean City VFW will treat the heroes to breakfast on April 21. Following that breakfast, the wounded veterans will compete in a target shoot sponsored by Ravens Roost 58, which will sponsor one five-member team while Squadron 166 Sons of the American Legion will sponsor the other five-member team. The target shoot is a fundraiser for the Believe in Tomorrow Foundation. The weekend’s events will culminate with a Wounded Heroes Night at the American Legion 166 post on Saturday night, April 21.
