Violet Mae Fisher

PARSONSBURG — Violet Mae Watson Fisher, 94, of Parsonsburg, died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at home. Born March 6, 1917 in New Church, Va., she was the daughter of the late Harry Thomas Watson and Mae Taylor Watson.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, AARP and Furnace Town Museum in Snow Hill. She worked for the former White & Leonard’s Toy Store, former Benjamin’s as a buyer for the Jr. Dept. and the former Hutzler’s as a Dept. Manager and then worked in sales for the Country House in Salisbury, retiring in 1998.

She and her late husband enjoyed boating, camping in Assateague and traveling to Florida. She also loved the beach and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harold Fisher in 1990; a sister, Catherine Hudson; nine brothers-in-law, Halton Johnson, Woodrow Hudson, Joe Fisher, Jack Fisher, Everett Fisher, Darryl Hall, Al Withoff, Howard Sipple and Virdon Bryan; and five sisters-in law, Pat Sipple, Helen Bryan, Edith Fisher, Carrie Fisher and Teenie Fisher.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Fisher Parker (Robert) of Parsonsburg; a son, Robert "Bob" Anthony Fisher (Kathy) of Snow Hill; a grandson, Robert Thomas Fisher (Stacy); three great grandchildren, Dustin Kolarick, Ashlea Fisher and Cassidy Fisher, all of Berlin; two sisters, Gloria (Waples) Gum of Frankford and Peggy Johnson of Roxana; three sisters-in-law, Eunice Fisher of Berlin, Ruth Hall of Bishop and Nellie Withoff of Bemidji, Minn.; 11 nephews; and six nieces.

A funeral service was held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at noon at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Berlin.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Parsonsburg Fire Department and the Parsonsburg Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 208, Parsonsburg, Md. 21849.

Ann M. DeRisi Lewis

OCEAN CITY — Ann M. DeRisi Lewis of Ocean City, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md. surrounded by her family. She was 76.

Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Frank DeRisi and Amelia DeRisi.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, David A. Lewis.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James DeRisi, Joseph DeRisi, and William DeRisi.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra A. D’Alessandro, and her sisters, Eleanor Tresch of Columbus, N.J.; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kennally of Moorestown, N.J., Mr. and Mrs. Francis Muth of Bristol Burrough, and Rita Adriatico of Bristol Burrough. She was adored grandmother of Laura and David. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Mrs. Lewis worked many years as a secretary for the U.S. Government.

She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Ocean City. A devout Catholic, she was devoted to her family and friends, and her religion.

Services and interment will be private.
